Washington County / Johnson City Emergency Medical Services is owned by the citizens of the city and county.  Our mission is to provide excellence in pre-hospital emergency care and specialty rescue services.  Created in 1980, EMS is the result of the merger of the Johnson City Rescue Squad and the Ambulance Authority.

Washington County / Johnson City EMS has experienced tremendous growth during its history.  This has strengthened our response capabilities by increasing the number of available emergency units and decreasing response time.  We are proud to be able to administer this most vital public safety service and pledge to give prompt, courteous and professional care to our citizens.
